Drawing on the success of our previous events in the UK, this year the Uniqsis flow chemistry symposium will be hosted in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The day will consist of presentations from leading academics and industrial chemists who have pioneered continuous flow chemistry within their organisations.
Speaker Program:
Professor Steven Ley, University of Cambridge, UK:
Enabling Technologies: Going with the Flow
Professor Nicholas Leadbeater, University of Connecticut
Flow Chemistry as a Tool for Synthesis: Organic Chemistry and Beyond
Dr Tyler McQuade, Florida State University
Synthesis in Microreactors: From materials to small molecules
Noel Wilson, Abbott
Diverse Applications of Flow Technology at Abbott
Gary Tarver, Merck
Flow chemistry in a scale up environment
Teresa Makowski, Pfizer
New Avenues for Flow Hydrogenation:Selective and Efficient Hydrogenation of Pharmaceutical Intermediates
Anne O' Kearney-McMullan, Astra Zeneca
Flow Chemistry - A tool for scale up? The AZ Macclesfield experience
In addition to the talks will be a poster session. If you would like to present a poster, please contact Samantha.dunnage@uniqsis.com
There will be the opportunity to see a practical demonstration of the latest flow chemistry equipment on market. For more in-depth knowledge, please consider our training day on November 17th 2010.
Lunch and 2 coffee breaks will be provided, the perfect opportunity for networking with like-minded flow chemists.
Continuous flow chemistry is an exciting new technology. If you are considering implementing it, but are not 100% convinced, come along to this symposium and hear first hand from people who are using flow chemistry and seeing the benefits such as seamless scale up, improved safety and high reproducibility of reactions.
"This has given me the confidence to implement flow chemistry within my organisation"
"Flow is the way to go, that is now clear! Thank you for a well organised event"
"A good mix of theory and practical examples, a really enjoyable day, thank you"

For delegates attending the Uniqsis flow chemistry symposium, we are offering the opportunity to attend an optional half day practical training session in the lab. Space will be limited, so please book early.
The day will be presented as a combination of presentation and practical session and will deal with both the theory behind, and the practical implementation of flow chemistry. There will be an opportunity to discuss pitfalls and strategies for success and to see how examples of flow chemistry can be performed using FlowSyn.
After the day, you will have the knowledge and confidence to plan and implement your own flow chemistry protocols.
